What should I wear? The dress code is cocktail to black tie optional. This means that tuxes and gowns are welcome, and so are cocktail dresses and suits. Fun garden party attire in bright (but not loud) colors is encouraged! Here is a link to explain different wedding dress codes. No jeans or shorts, please! Also (obviously) please don't wear white, anything light enough to appear white in a photograph, floral pattern with a white base, or red. Thank you! If you are unsure what to wear or want some advice, Emi would love to help out (she loves that kinda stuff). Don't hesitate to reach out! Our venue is air conditioned, so no need to worry about that British summer heat!

Can I bring a plus one or date?If their name is listed on your invitation, then absolutely! <3 Otherwise, we would love to keep the wedding as an intimate event with close friends and family. Thank you for understanding!
-
Can I bring my kids?We love your little ones--however, we have decided to keep our wedding and reception an adults-only event unless specifically indicated on your invitation. We encourage you to use this evening to have a fun date night! We kindly ask that parents be mindful of children's noise levels during the ceremony. Please also be mindful that alcohol will be flowing, especially during the reception.

Help! I'm running late to the ceremony! You may arrive anytime between 11:15 am and 12:00 pm for the ceremony. With that said, the ceremony will start PROMPTLY at 12:00 pm. We recommend you shoot for an arrival time between 11:30-11:45 am so you have time to mingle, find a seat, and grab a program. At noon, the doors will be closed and you will be unable to attend the actual ceremony. This will be strictly enforced. You will still be able to join us for cocktail hour-- we just want to minimize distractions. So, don't sweat it, hang out, and we will see you for drinks! Thank you so much for understanding!

When should I RSVP by?Kindly RSVP by May 18th, 2023. If you cannot attend, we will miss you, and would appreciate you letting us know at the soonest opportunity. Those that do not RSVP by May 18th, 2023 -- we are so sorry you cannot make it! If you miss this date, we may be unable to accommodate your presence at the wedding, as we will send final headcounts to vendors on this day.

Can we take photos during the ceremony? While we are not asking for an unplugged ceremony, we do ask to please be mindful of cell phone and camera use. We've hired a photographer to capture our day and all of the memories. Please refrain from phone use especially if seated in or near an aisle seat, as our photographer has requested that outside camera use be limited so she can capture all of the best moments without interruption <3 Thank you for understanding!
-
Is seating random?Short answer: nope! For the ceremony, sit wherever you please (apart from reserved spaces at the front for our immediate family). No bride's side/groom's side here! :) We will be carefully arranging tables for dinner so our guests are sat with those they know. We know weddings are a mixing pot of guests who may not know one another, and we want to ease any anxieties for guests that may be a bit more introverted. If you have any questions or requests, please contact us.
-
Since there will be alcohol, what do we do about driving? We DO NOT want anyone drinking and driving. Both the Rouen Road car park and Rose Lane car park near our venue are open 24 hours, so you are able to leave your vehicles overnight. We encourage using ABC Taxis to and from the venue. It might be a good idea to book your taxi in advance to avoid a backup at the end of the night.

I can't attend the wedding in person. Will there be a live stream?Yes! Pete and I have family and friends all over the world (hi American loved ones!), and we would love for you to be a part of our big day. Please contact us if you wish to attend the livestream, or RSVP as livestream-only.

Is Emi taking Pete's last name? Is Pete taking Emi's? Are you hyphenating?Emi is very excited to become a Moakes, but she doesn't want to abandon the name she's had her whole life! Additionally, changing your last name when you have three visas and a citizenship to apply for in the coming years is a headache, to say the least. Emi will remain Emi Scoville legally, but will be going by Emi Moakes colloquially.
